We are Steve and Lori Baker, bullmastiff fanciers from Northeast, Ohio. We have been involved with this wonderful breed for approximately 11 years now. We just had our first litter in December of 2009. We may do a repeat of this breeding in the fall of 2010 (see the breedings tab above, I'll try to update it with our plans). We will not breed often and will only breed when we want to keep something for ourselves.
Our dogs are our pets first and foremost. We train and show in conformation, obedience, rally obedience and have dabbled a bit with tracking and agility. We are also very involved in therapy work though Delta Society.
We are members of the American Bullmastiff Association, Mid-West Bullmastiff Fanciers, Great Lakes Bullmastiff Association, Sunshine States Bullmastiff Club, Youngstown All-Breed Training Club, Delta Society and K-9s For Compassion. Lori is currently Vice President of Youngstown All-Breed and Vice President of the Great Lakes Bullmastiff Association. Lori is also a licensed Pet Partner evaluator for Delta Society.
We are also volunteers with rescue through the American Bullmastiff Association. We believe in protecting our breed. Please research the breed before you buy - the Bullmastiff is NOT a breed for everyone! Bullmastiffs are not big smooshy teddy bears - they were bred to be guard dogs and they can STILL do their job! Yes, Bullmastiffs drool, shed, snore and pass gas. They can eat as much as 7 cups of dog food per day. They can have health issues and they can be expensive to vet because of their size.
Why Ste-Lor as our kennel name? Easy... first three letters of Steve and first three letters of Lori. We think its fitting because we think Bullmastiffs are a "Stellar" breed.
